Haha, that was like reading a death sentence, more on what you can't or should not do than what is possible. I'll keep wearing my necklacees with hearts, stars etc on. I've got a ring with a stone in too for that matter.

Seb, I suggest the thread "Necklace as...necktie?" Think about putting on a man's traditional trousers suit. But... Not putting on a stodgy old necktie, but rather, the most colorful necklace you can find

I have an absolutely delightful quartz crystal necklace suspended by a fine gold chain that I wear all the time. Vastly preferable to the dreaded "noose". I'll wear a necktie from time to time, mainly when I'm trying to make a statement, but other than that it's an open collar with my little crystal.

I think I have worn my suit 6 times the last 15 years, 3 times in association with my wedding, two funerals and one fancy dinner I had to attend to with work. Most of those with a bow-tie instead which is much preferred. My necklaces I can wear at work, unlike rings, watches and wristbands etc, and the work uniform is also a v-neck so they also show. :)

I think we all want to see a picture of it now! :)

I believe that the last time I dressed up was back in 2016, for my mother's funeral. It has been probably 20 years since I attended a wedding. I am not required to wear a suit for work.

Just thought of an idea  Instead of investing in a traditional suit, plan a semi-formal rig that could be dressed up for formal occasions. I am thinking of a sports jacket with trousers or a skirt. Try to match the different items in terms of color. Such a rig might have utility in everyday life.

To dress up such a rig, add jewelry, perhaps a tie. :)

IMHO, my 'style' would be having a 4 piece suit.

Jacket(coat)
Vest(waistcoat)
A pair of trousers(formal occasions)
A-Line, below the knee, skirt(semi-formal occasions)
All made from the same {black, navy blue, brown or burgundy} cloth.

Just my $.02 worth :D

The tie, voluntary!

These were taken in the office at close of play in February 2022.
Occasionally I still wear a tie, just because I can.
