Unusual Places/Activities that you've worn a skirt?
Just curious, have any stories about unusual occasions/places?
I do.
Several times, I've gone swimming in a sarong. I read that traditionally this is done in the two Samoas. So I thought I'd try it. One of my sarongs does seem....water friendly. So I went swimming in it. It didn't come off, and it was a nice feeling. Although when you first goes in it kinda "parachutes", but this doesn't last to long, and if you swim horizontally then everything's ok. This sarong is relatively long "on dry land"...below my knees. And from the distance, it probably just looks like a funny pair of shorts or something (and why not? There are many swim shorts that seem to have patterns inspired by Polynesian sarong patterns).
So, any of you have any interesting stories?

I've gone to the local U-pull auto wrecking yards wearing either a denim 5-pocket skirt or my Utilikilt. A lot more comfortable in the summer than shorts or a pair of jeans...

Hi,
I've done some paragliding flights with a jeans mini skirt.
Actually, many years ago I organized a course in paragliding, and one of the ladies didn't bring her old trousers, so I lend her mine. But then I was stuck without trousers, so I just did it in a skirt converted from an old pair of jeans...

A denim skirt for a visit to the dentist? No comment made.
And a straight black skirt while shopping for a new car. Again no comment, but a couple of curious looks from staff at the showroom.
Guys wearing skirts seems to be pretty much a non-event these days. It's just a bit unusual, that's all.

The most unusual place I've worn a skirt? Around my shoulders. Really.
It was a fairly long walk on an unusually sunny day, I'd worn a sleeveless t shirt and an ankle length skirt but ran out of sunscreen. So I pulled the skirt up over my shoulders, pulled the drawstring tighter and wore it as a cape to protect my skin from burning. It was still long enough to protect my modesty and avoid frightening the natives, but I did get a few strange looks
I guess it's just as well it was not windy or the Marilyn Monroe effect could have been pretty startling
Have fun,
Ian.

Do not argue with idiots; they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Out (OUCH) Fishing
I was invited by some friends on an all day ticket on a Head Boat. (Head Boat = nickname for a large pay per person charter boat that the captain gets paid depending on how many "heads" come for the trip) I wore a knee length A line twill skirt, matching T shirt and sandals. It was a cloudless day and I got reddened all over. It was windy to the point that my skirt blew up somewhat and exposed parts of my legs to the bright sun that hadn't been in the sun for at least 20 years. Needless to say, I burned like a french fry. Nothing was said except for a very old fisherman who's eyesight was not too good, he stepped out of my way with a nice friendly "Excuse me ma'am", to which I answered with my gravelly voice, "no problem Sir" to which he exclaimed "Oops, my mistake Sir" and the rest of the day was uneventful except for a good catch and a bad burn. :shake:

I had to remove this signature as it was being used on Twitter. This is my OPINION, you NEEDN'T AGREE.

I had an appointment with my consultant today at a hospital the other side of the county. This called for a train journey, changing at Ashford International (Eurostar terminal). All good reasons to don a skirt for the day.
As the weather today was more autumnal than spring-like, I wore a 3/4 length brown-print cotton skirt with brown sandals and a red/rust shirt.
No comments to my face, one photo taken (from behind) when I bought my paper at the train station, and a few overheard occasions of "skirt" around me.
Back home (after 6 hours) in time to take the skirt off before my wife returned from work (another story).

Not an unusual place or activity, but the other day I wore a 16-inch-long, pleated, black corduroy skirt (with kilt-like side buckles) to a small restaurant for lunch with my wife.
What was unusual was seeing another guy in a kilt while we were there. He was wearing a khaki Utilikilt.
Black corduroy would ordinarily be a bit warm for June, but the weather was cool, drizzly, and breezy that day, so it felt quite comfortable.

Today Or late tonight I decided to go to my gym which is open 24 hours so late at night nobody else is there. I usually workout in a pair of split running shorts with the liner removed and they show alot, which dosent bother me..I decided to workout in my homemade skirt made from a pair of cutoff shorts i had. Actually the skirt shows less then my shorts do except when im doing the "adduction" leg exercizes which you have to open your legs wide and the upside down leg press where I lay on my back wheich will cause the skirt to ride up..Like i said..Nobody was there and Im not ashamed to flash my undies infront of the cameras in the gym. Here are some pics. Dont be offended..these were meant for my female friend as "eye candy".

Next time at the gym take some side and rear views of your denin
shorts/skirt conversion.
To the casual observer it would appear that
you are wearing a piece of clothing that has just had an accident; been
ripped or torn. This is evident because you did not finish (hem) the
bottom to a clean cut line.
Jeans/denim are an excellent way to adapt to wearing
a skirt in public since they have the usual male markings of the fly
front, belt loops and pockets. The open bottom (skirt) is overlooked.
Navy/Dark Blue is easier to pass than the White which you have.
You do a very good job of wearing your altered clothing and you have
the body/build for it! Nice job!

I know its "crude" This one is only worn during very casual times when appearance isnt an issue. If I hem these there may not be much more to cover. Im going back to gym tonight and ill take some rear shots through the mirror. Im thinking of taking the digital camera to take videos for youtube. As you noticed these were taken with a cell phone camera.
