Pretty Red Dress - film on BBC2 (UK) last night

Post by MrSoapsud »

Did anyone watch this film last night (or before)? I recorded it but haven't watched it yet. (It's also available on iPlayer but probably UK only.) I'm trying to gauge where it's at on the spectrum of "man in a dress" to "cross-dresser" to see whether it might help with getting my SO on board with the idea of me at least wearing skirts.

I didn't see the film but a quick Internet Search yielded a review:

Sounds interesting.

Corrected.

When I Googled 'Pretty Red Dress'(2022), this is what happens in the movie.
It follows the story of a family of three (father, mother and teenage daughter) after the father is
released from prison, and while the mother is auditioning for the part of Tina Turner in a musical.
A red dress bought for the part becomes central to the plot.
The film is sound tracked to Turner's various hit songs.
I hope this information helps :D

Sorry - I should have said that I'd read some reviews and watched the trailer. I was after more than that.
Thanks anyway

There are quite a few reviews that give hints. Example: https://www.empireonline.com/movies/rev ... red-dress/ It sounds like it may not go as far as you would like in unraveling the tensions with your S.O. but it also sounds like it is well enough done that it could be the basis for more meaningful conversations that might help move you both 'forward'.
