Advantage of a Dress

Post by Max »

It occurs to me as I lose weight, I don't have to deal with my dress falling down as do my pants.

Or Skirts that Wont stay up. Had to go down a size in skirts to keep them from falling off.
Now I have too many skirts that are too big for me, I'll store them for a while just in case I gain the weight again

You can use braces, the same as used on pants.

One of the really nice things about dresses is just that, or then e on and they stay where they are supposed to. My wife often complains of the opposite, that the hem of the dress tends to ride up over the day. I wear loose fitting or flaired ones and dont have that problem. :)

Most skirts are fairly easy to take in a bit too if you're not planning on getting that weight back, just make a pair or two of small pleats/darts in the waistband. Easily done by hand and you can always remove them if you need it bigger again.

I recently bought a couple of skirts and a dress which have a zip. I cannot zip them up because I’m overweight but they still fit me. With the skirt not zipping up I just roll them up a bit at the skirt waist and wear a belt and with a dress I just wear a top over it.

They eliminate an entire piece of clothing. dresses don't have the issue of the top and bottom being separate and getting separated when you're fumbling around in the dark putting on your night attire, one less garment to launder, minimum material for hot summer days.

Something that has been occasionally mentioned...being free from the constriction of a waist band.

When wearing a dress, I make sure it is mid-calf in length. When I
bend over/down, I don't have to worry about anything 'riding up'

If I were to bend at my knees, I'ld never be able to get back up.
Plus, when sitting down, I have adequate protection between
me and what I'm sitting on.

That is certainly a good thing in hot weather, particularly with a loose fit. Could create some thermal convection for cooling.

One problem with the mini dresses I have tried.

Ouch! Try a metal chair in summer.

From a practical or comfort point of view you can't beat a dress. I have a few but just can't quite get a look that I am really comfortable with.

I really like T-shirt mini and midi dresses. They are extremely comfortable and go great with leggings or tights. I like skirts and kilts but for extreme comfort I find the dress never fails.

I have seen the comment that...when picking out clothing for the day, a dress is conveniently "one and done." You can skip the task of matching top and bottom.

As a lover of dresses, I couldn’t agree more. The simplicity is delightful, throw on a dress, add footwear and you’re done. Also, in my case, I look great in a dress, which is why I wear them.
I don't want to LOOK like a woman, I just want to DRESS like a woman.

I REALLY don't know why more women don't wear dresses. As a man it's seldom that I don't wear a dress. A lot of times I'm the only one wearing a dress, such as walking in a nearby park or going to midweek gatherings at my church. I like the way there is no constriction at the waist and no wedge of cloth against my boy bits. Also, you don't have to match a top with a bottom.

Find styles you like and work for you and you can’t beat a dress.

I have a few of some styles of dress, which tend to be available in a variety of colours and prints. Among my favourites are Seasalt Veronica and Wild Bouquet dresses, which are now both available with short and three quarter length sleeves.

As I write this I am wearing a red White Stuff Tallie dress that I bought just over a year ago.
