Skirt suit

Post by steamman »

This is a seriously nice skirt type suit that many men could easily wear:

I love the heeled boots as well. Not sure due to the price that the fabric is going to be the best quality but the concept is great.

Nice. I would choose to go for something a bit more plain - but adapted for the male physique.

Not too bad. I’d wear that suit as is, and yeah, I’d need high heeled knee boots to go with it.

I notice that the illustrated obviously Winter skirtsuit is being offered for Eur 75, which looking at it would seem to be very good value indeed. However, their sizes offered stop at 'L', with a 30" waist. Far too small for most of us here.

Way back when I was still in harness and earning a bob or two I had a few skirtsuits made up for me by 'CrossdresserNL' and Sumissura, based in Thailand I believe. The NL purchases were within the EU and delivery was included. However, the Thai purchase was loaded not only with a hefty delivery charge, but also I was screwed for an extra sum by Customs & Excise, making the whole exercise very expensive, not to be repeated

I went for 25" generous knee-length in the skirts, but the Thai jacket was skimpily cut, with tight sleeves and would only barely do up in front.

Odd lapels on the Thai jacket. IMHO you need a different colour shirt to make the jacket work as the shirt and lapels merge to give an odd look.

The other suit is much better.

I would agree that the price seems a bit low for the quality to be very high but you never know.

The overall design works, but I'm not sure about peplums on men.

I like the lower half quite a lot, but the jacket seems tailored to a female body type...nipped at the high waist and with exaggerated shoulder pads to accentuate a narrow waist even more.

Another high-end option is Terry Singh NYC.

The Terry Singh site is odd in how bad each model is made to look. The only picture in the entire site where the clothes are being worn to look good is the about page with a picture of Terry and a young girl. https://www.terrysinghnyc.com/about IMHO

The text about each piece is also so over blown and I love the 4th paragraph of the about Terry text...
Terry's unique approach to fashion wasn't just about designing garments; it was about crafting experiences that transcended conventional boundaries. With his guiding principles of freedom, luxury, and peace, he breathed life into each piece he created. His fashion journey was a testament to the belief that clothing is a powerful tool for self-discovery and liberation, and his work dared to challenge the norms of masculinity.
I guess this is all normal for expensive fashion and I guess we should applaud a guy doing high fashion for men in skirts?

That is his daughter. I think that the photos are largely ok, but what I find odd is that there are not multiple pics / views when you click on one of the garments.

I actually feel that Terry (and daughter) model the wares much better than the actual models. He has some great picks on Instagram.
