Looking through those pictures I was struck by this one:

I think that is actually trousers he's wearing, but if that was a long skirt I could be really tempted by this for an evening out rig. I particularly like the longer jacket combined with a waistcoat and the use of matching fabric for shirt and skirt, though I suspect that without the waistcoat it would be rather overpowering.

I also rather liked this skirt as a real, wearable possibility (though I would choose a different top):

not all of them. So are wearing it without any trousers. Actually it is a winter collection that explains the stylism but it is of course possible to wear them without anything under them.

Hello folks.
The long lost Aussie-Brit returns.

I agree with most comments on here about the combination of skirts and other things not working well, and certainly not being one of my choices. HOWEVER, we must remember that our aim is to get as many men into skirts as we can and if the combination allows some of those who are otherwise reluctant to take their first public steps in a skirt then we have a win. Then we can work on improving the look. Don't forget that there are many women who wear skirts or dresses over trousers of one form or another.

At the end of the article there is a poll "what do you think about skirts for men?"
ça me plait (I like skirt for men)
Je n'aime pas (I do not like it)
So let's vote "ça me plait"

I'd vote yes for men's skirts as a general theme, but not in the context of this fashion show, where I can see nothing that appeals to me.

Looking back through history several designers have tried to introduce skirts into the mans wardrobe but each time they failed. I think part of the problem is most men are not "Fashion Forward" in that they wear the same thing all the time only replacing it when its worn out.

For those that wear suits it was not that long ago that Vest were the in thing to war with a business suit, perhaps the skirt might be adopted next, only time will tell.

I am so happy to see the anti skirts over pants posts. ALL of these have potential IF the pants and loose leggings are replaced with either proper fitting leggings or (gasp and horror) tights.

However, I agree with those here that say this could be the way into getting guys to wear skirts, and then some brave soul will lose the pants, perhaps done a pair of tights and wallah, the style is mainstream.

To posters that say tights are too feminine. There was a time pants were too masculine. You got to break these boundaries.
