Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.
Purple sleeveless "muscle" T-shirt, gray rayon mid calf straight skirt, lined with red nylon, and having a 10 inch slit in the rear for ease of walking, white wool diabetic socks, brown leather loafers. Just got back from the setting up of a yard party for later today about 3 houses down the street. I had to make sure there were some soda pops there for me to drink when nearly everyone else was pounding beers. A neighbor has an outside shed with a 60 inch plasma HD TV in it for Football game watching on Sundays.

Im wearing red Cotton Traders shirt with 80 denier opaque tights, black denim mini skirt with black black and black suede slouch calf boots - that just for all day today.
Well, it's not quite so bad as it sounds, but tonight was definitely a "blue" evening.
Out and about for dinner I wore my blue velvet skirt, my 1850s-pattern navy-blue vest, and a blue pattern "Star Trek" necktie. The rest was boring enough: a white dress shirt, ivory opaque legwear, and my black dress shoes. Oh, to finish the look off, a blue bow in my waist-length ponytail.
Originally I had my hair in a half-tail, but the bow slipped downwards and I had to re-do it and chose to put the whole thing in. Sapphire said I looked like Thomas Jefferson. Wow! do I love this woman!

Off and on over the past few years I've been thinking that Carl would look great with a velvet bow for his ponytail. The particular bow was gros-grain ribbon, but WOW!

Grey tweed kilt, grey rollneck jumper (that's a sweater/woolly top covering for the west atlantic brethren) and black boots with ankle (walking) socks and "oil tanned" sheer hosiery.
Well....the woman I was with LOVED it! She was unbifurcated also, with lovely red dress and black stockings, I must point out. Anyway, I got lots of attention, especially on the legs, so who am I to complain? I've had my leg felt up most of the night, so am feeling slightly dazed and happy at this time. That's being male and confident for you!
For most of the day, I wore a teal long-sleeve t-shirt, denim knee-length skirt, rusty-orange kneesocks, and a pair of running shoes. I did change into shorts, since I was planning to go on a bike ride on one of the trails around here. Didn't wind up doing that after all. Began getting dark, and I've been dealing with some ankle pain recently that was caused by the toe clips that I had on my bike and a pair of well-worn New Balance running shoes, which had no stiffness in the sole.
Tomorrow, plan on hitting the trail. Friday, I may do my first skirted bike ride, using basically the aformentioned outfit... Supposed to be dry and sunny.
I just got dressed to go to the Grocery this morning when they open. I usually go early in the morning as it's still cool. By 9 am its usually around 85 F and I stay in the a/c unless I'm going to the local pool for a swim.
I'm wearing a long sleeve red T-shirt, mid calf straight khaki twill skirt, black half slip, black tights and brown loafers. Good thing I have a van as otherwise it would be difficult getting in and out of a car with a pencil skirt on, however, as I wear pencil skirts most of the time, I've figured out how to do it easily.

Skip,
You have me thinking now! how is stepping up into a van easier than sitting your bum down into a car? I thought a pencil skirt would make stepping up much more difficult than parking ones seat in the seat then pivoting like a pivotty thing.
I am the God of Hellfire! and I bring you truffles!
B&Bashful, it's really a straight skirt, it doesn't angle in at the bottom like a true pencil skirt does and all my mid calf straight skirts have a slit in the rear from hem to knees for walking ease. My van, a 1993 Ford Aerostar has a 10 in. wide rail step the length of the van about half way from the bottom of the door to the ground so the step ups are only about 9 inches each. Getting in my van, in my opinion, is much easier than getting out of a low to the ground car would be in a straight skirt. I sort of "fall out" of the van and climb a ladder of sorts to get in. The price I have to pay to wear a straight skirt which I much prefer over an A-line or fuller skirt. Straight skirts are much easier to sit in or stand and bend over to pick stuff up without possibly showing something others would rather not see. I wear fuller skirts for night things like Bingo or friends houses, daytime I'm usually in a denim or twill knee or mid calf length in blue, khaki or white or in denim, stone washed color.
Today, back to topic, I'm going out to the post office in a bit and will be wearing a purple sleeveless T-shirt, Birkenstock sandals and a stone washed denim knee length straight skirt which I'm already wearing.

On Friday, grey kilt with grey v-neck jumper. Sheer 8 denier MENS hosiery - Gerbe (flesh colour) - which werent cheap (£19/US$35) but my goodness, they worked a treat with the women I was with. Full on approval; she's intruiged about seeing me in a skirt (as opposed to a kilt)! Oh, and walking boots.
Strike another blow for men's fashion freedom and another woman who thinks for herself!
Today, I wore my olive green Utilikilt, blue with white striped button down oxford shirt and HSR thigh highs w/"Little Color" . It has been wonderful weather of late here in the central midwest, i.e. Indiana, and this combination has been VERY comfortable.
We bought a de-humidifier late this morning, went furniture shopping this afternoon, stopped for a late lunch at Mickey D's and I just back from the grocery store with a few things for the morning routine.
At the grocery store this evening is where I had my widest range of reactions. From a compliment regarding my kilt when I first walked in by a great-grandmother type, to snickers from two adolscent girls walking together, both of whom were skirted BTW, to a rather loud "Honey, look over at this" from a guy to his wife (I guess to get her attention over towards me). Remember what Mae West said: "It's better to be looked over than overlooked."
