Platform boots

The shaker 72 for me. I was not into platform boots but Mouse especially keeps wafting them under my nose and I'm being slowly swayed.
I bought these a few weeks ago and like all DM's for me the are taking a lot of breaking in.

I don't understand the appeal. They all strike me as terribly hot, heavy, and uncomfortable, never-mind the cost would buy several comfy skirts!

This is my opinion but Dr Marten boots look fabulous with skirts and dresses. I have two pairs of DM boots (one pair oxblood red and the other pair black) and one pair of DM shoes which are black. Another good boot are Chelsea boots and Timberland boots which are more comfortable. However, I like my DMs best and it took me a couple of weeks of wearing to break into one pair I bought but the other pairs didn’t really need any breaking into.

Not strictly platform boots, I rather like the wedge-heeled boots which Mouse wore to Meetup No 6/2 and his visit to "The Great Electric Train Show ".

This is the closest that Timberland now do to my wedges and they are available in 5 colour ways.

After buying my tall Timberland boots in 2017, I saw my wedges in a sale in 2018/19 and thought they would be the next step in my public boot wearing under my skirts.

I have always thought that a number of classic boot brands have just taken their standard boot and made them interesting for the female side of the shop. DM, Converse and Timberland all make standard boots for the man box and tall, heels, platforms, colours and other interesting features for people outside the man box. Apart from sizing issues, these are all just interesting boots that we can wear.
