Chat GPT
Chat GPT
Has anyone else tried Chat GPT for styling suggestions? I have and it’s really good fun for virtually trying out outfits in all sorts of combinations. Highly addictive. It will even suggest retailers where you can buy clothes.
I’ve also had general chats around men wearing skirts and dresses and it’s interesting what Chat GPT says. It’s actually very encouraging, so if you are a guy thinking about doing it, and lacking confidence, give it a go. It will give you all sorts of useful ideas to help.

I stay clear of AI for any text/information uses, it's programmed to be a yes sayer and will give you the information/feedback it thinks you want, it does not care if the information is correct, only that it pleased you, which ofc had its uses as well.
I do have a working local copy of Automatic1111 stable diffusion that is fun to play with generating images and AI could do a lot of my work if the big medical companies used it right but luckily they have not figured that out yet

Re: Chat GPT
I have used it in the past for styling suggestions - not with image generation - just text generation - and it was just OK - but that was GPT 3.5... I haven't used 5 for it yet. The results were less definitive - and there was no way to show it a picture and get feedback. Also, as Seb says, it's way too people pleasing. I don't know how 5 is in that realm as I don't go to it for advice anymore.
"Oh yes, that's a wonderful choice, you are such a great human!"
I do use it for work - and it's been a great time saver when used right - but anything subjective and I find it's way too sycophantic.

Re: Chat GPT
Actually when searching for an information, the only use case I find to these AI engines is when you know what you are looking for, but either you don't know how to name it or you don't know how to make sure to get pertinent results when using regular search engines. Apart from this, the only uses I can imagine as of today of these AI, are like multimedia content editing, where it does a much better job than I do.

Re: Chat GPT
Two points here:
1) If you don 't know what you're searching for why are you searching? There needs to be a starting point.
2) If you find that an AS application is better at writing than you are, learn more and up your game.
Most AS 'bots "write" at or below the Junior High School level. This is not a style nor a level to aspire to. Full stop.

Crfriend, your latest message got me confused. Are you answering to me, or just saying this "in general"?

Re: Chat GPT
That response was definitely intended in the "general" category, and can apply pretty much universally. No personal invective was intended, nor implied.

Re: Chat GPT
Thanks for clarifying
By re-reading a little bit the previous messages, an usage that I can see with text generation is when you need to write something and you face the blank page syndrom. Using AI to generate a start that you adapt and continue with, might be a wise option.
Back to the original topic, no I don't have used it for styling suggestions. Eventually I could use it to have an overview beforehand of what some clothes combinations "could" look like on me before getting them. It's not truly suggestions, but still in getting help with styling an outfit.

Re: Chat GPT
You're more than welcome!
Beware this "out". Sometimes "Blank Page Syndrome" is indicative that your thoughts are not yet ready to commit to paper where they may be visible for the world to see rather than held close to your own mind. That's a problem I tend to fight with whether I'm writing documentation, recollections, or outright prose. Starting off with coherent thought is always a good foundation to build upon.By re-reading a little bit the previous messages, an usage that I can see with text generation is when you need to write something and you face the blank page syndrom.
