Re: Pointless?
Personally I couldn't give a stuff about coffee and I never frequent any of the plethora of outlets which in recent years have sprung up everywhere.
For my daily liquid needs I toss a spoonful of grains into a mug and top it up with hot water & a dash of milk. Easy to wash up afterwards and there is no residue. MOH on the other hand is a coffee junkie and leaves residue all over the sink area of the 'Bridge of the Starship Enterprise' which is what I call our ultra-modern 40+ year old kitchen units.

Re: Pointless?
I like to keep my mind sharpened with a morning coffee. I get freshly roasted beans sent up by slow mail.

Re: Pointless?
I do miss the morning coffee. The rest of the 2l that I used to drink a day I don't miss as much. Unfortunately I can't seem to do only one cup a day, its all or nothing I guess. It takes longer to wake up, but once I'm awake I don't need the constant top up to stave off the caffeine crash.
Hot water helps in the morning, but ofc its not the same.

Ah, "Pointless"!
Who said there had to be one?
Get led astray and you never know where you'll be drawn.
The coffee neither, the company you keep while consuming it.
Now there lies the magic, the aitch be and end all.
Steve.
Apologies, I really am addicted to certain coffees and bad puns.

I love the aroma of coffee/coffee beans. Unfortunately the drink seldom lives up to the smell and tends to disappoint.
Re: Pointless?
Halfway down fashionable Grafton Street in Dublin there has been a Bewley's coffee shop since Time immemorial. On purpose they do their roasting just inside their front door and the aroma permeates up and down that side of the street for quite a distance. I go in there just for that and a chat, usually.

Yes very rarely the right circumstances: freshly and correctly roasted beans, ground to a suitable fineness just before use, the optimum water temperature, pressure and quantity. It is hard to get everything right but I am known to have the best coffee in town (it is a very small town

Re: Pointless?
I have both coffee and herbal tea (peppermint or hibiscus) for breakfast. I typically have a big breakfast and skip lunch.
