Thanks, I’m in the UK and that looks a good site. I fancy something A line, will keep searching.Stu wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 9:12 pmIn which country are you based?TonautBrom wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 5:09 pm
I’m have difficulty finding something suitable though. Most skirts on sale are much shorter or much longer, and the one possible I found recently was 64cm when I really don’t want to go longer than 60cm (I’m not very tall).
Any suggestions?
I am in the UK and, of late, I have used Roman Originals, which I have found to be good quality, a perfect length, inexpensive and the right length:

Re: Knee length length
Thanks for all the replies. I’m currently in my comfort zone at 57cm and could see myself going a little shorter, especially if it sat lower on my hips. But sub 50cm (which is where a lot of women’s skirts now seem to be) is in scary zone right now.
Re: Knee length length
I am weak....Stu puts a link in a post....I click on link and find Romans are having a sale....browsing the site an interesting purple skirt jumps off the screen from the "skirts on sale" page....I am weak....it arrives soon. Thanks Stu.
To be fair, a number of skirts took my eye. I have been very pleased with my "work skirt" http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24614 which was from Romans earlier in the year. So I take any excuse to buy another skirt.

That's a great looking skirt! I wish Amazon here in the U.S. carried something that nice. I was looking for one that length this summer, and never could find one that fit right and looked that good, including Amazon.

Re: Knee length length
So after a lot of looking I found this, which hits the spot pretty nicely. https://www.monki.com/en_gbp/clothing/s ... 39003.html
I bought a Size 38 (10 equivalent) from their Carnaby St store and I think it looks pretty good. Quite kilt like but a lot lighter. Wore it around central London today and for the train journey home, no issues.

Nice skirt. I think you can wear that wherever you please in the UK with no problems. There are some great skirts on the web site, thank you for sharing.TonautBrom wrote: ↑Sat Sep 21, 2024 5:26 pm So after a lot of looking I found this, which hits the spot pretty nicely. https://www.monki.com/en_gbp/clothing/s ... 39003.html

You should wear your new skirt to Barleymower's Autumn meet-up in London in October.....

Re: Knee length length
Here's one I was considering awhile ago, but was put off be dry clean only. In store it was just right at knee length, for one of my "kilt substitutes."

Nice skirt TM. As long as the pleats don't need individually ironing and the fabric stands up to some sitting down.timemeddler wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:22 pm Here's one I was considering awhile ago, but was put off be dry clean only. Seems to hold up pretty well to wear, any creases drop out quickly.Barleymower wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 8:38 pm

Re: Knee length length
Skirtcraft has a nice black knee length skirt
Re: Knee length length
Yes they do, I have 2. They are also lined which is nice in winter and they are made for every body.
The only problem is they are not the cheapest skirt you can buy.
