As ideals and concepts change with times, so do words and definitions. This post makes me reflect on our other threads herein where we discuss the difference between Machismo and Masculine; and what constitutes a healthy sort of strong. May the ideals of the founder that -- ALL People are created equal and have certain Inalienable Rights including Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness, ...flourish!

So the thread has teetered with the typical "America sux and Americans are idiots" cliche. But even among those who would normally champion the U.S., it seems we can't resist a poke at the President. But to be fair, it's been a while (at least 50 years) since we've had a good one.

Anyway, I was fine to steer clear of this discussion, but I happened upon this production today and it made me think of this thread....

Agree, disagree, take it as you will....

I watched the video and thought it made some very interesting points that people will agree or disagree with based on their preconceived notions. The sad fact, as I see it today, is that no one, or very few, is willing even to consider that a differing opinion might have some validity; of course, as the video pointed out, some of the animosity created by personal attacks that have nothing to do with political views or furthering policies that benefit the nation as a whole serve to slam doors shut that will take decades to reopen.
The United States of America is a great country. and has a bright future.
