Belts for kilts

I have several wide leather belts with big metal buckles for my kilts, but I really want to try and find something less thick and clunky.
Does anybody know of (UK) suppliers of wide belts, maybe in webbing or similar that does not have the big metal buckles. I have looked around but I have not found much that will fit the wide kilt loops.

Don't be afraid of looking in women's shops; you'll find all styles from the very simple to the superfluously decorative -- which will probably not go through your belt loops ! I think most of mine were marketed women.

I just wear the same 1.5-inch-wide belts I'd use for blue jeans.

I make my own belts from webbing and a plastic clip buckle. Go to your local upholstery shop, buy the webbing (whatever width you want) by the meter and a buckle of your choice. My belts normally cost me around R15.00 ( less than 1 pound ) to make.

Same here. One of them has interchangeable buckles. I usually use a plain silver buckle but occasionally I will snap on a big cowboy style buckle.
I was just looking a kilt belts on Amazon yesterday. I had to order new kilt pins. For some reason I keep losing them.

Same here. If the buckle is going to be visible I use a big Western one, but I'm wearing a shirt that covers the belt anyway I use a plain buckle so it doesn't protrude.

You can rev it up on the feminine side of just ordinary plain jane - unisexual application.

One of our members across the pond wears these quite often - can't place the name but he is often seen in a row
boat out in his private pond and has a kilt with flames patterned on the apron.
You can make one of these with minimal materials and hardware.

I was just looking a kilt belts on Amazon yesterday. I had to order new kilt pins. For some reason I keep losing them.

About losing the kilt pens I trick that I've taken to using is take a section of wide rubber band about an inch or so and position your kilt pin on your kilt run the pin through but not completely slide the rubber band on to the pin folding it a couple times and position it about midway along that then continue pinning it to the kilt and close the clasp then spread the rubber band out along the pin.
Now that you've done this if the class should come undone you have a safety back up to keep from losing the pin.
