As for Dress code I'd recommend you wear formal shiny black shoes with your Tux & not go barefoot
Oh no. I have to behave like a good Scot and draw the line somewhere.

Great that your wife can accompany you on piano. That's a wonderful advantage for practice. My dearly beloved, being not primarily musical plays no instrument so my home practice is always solo. (all our musical progeny live abroad, alas).

I adore barbershop and all Adeline harmonies and usually squeak the top line for those.

Oh no they don't! Lefrog is like drinking Toilet Duck, but Bunnyrabbit, sorry, bhunnahabhain is wonderful stuff.
Talking about squeeking, I have found the limit for my squeeking, on this song:

at three minutes and 20 secondsish, Paul hits the highest note in the song, I can get to every note barring the absolute top one. It's just too high. Mind you, I probably sound pretty tragic! I have just been getting back into practice with my guitars and have used up the last of my fingertip skin, so I am seeing what my voice can reach before trying too hard to tab songs to attack. I like this song and also "Build" by the Housemartins, that was this afternoons cat frightening!

Big and Bashful,

That's the time for reaching for the bricks and using them so you can hit the top note.

Dillon, let me give a clue to the brick joke ... In the 1600's and 1700's they used to castrate boys to retain their treble voices - those singers were the castrati (singular castrato).

I am well aware of castrati, but as to your joke, forgive my dullness. I will have to study it a bit longer.

It's pretty bad when you have to explain a joke. You take the bricks and bang them together with your testicles along with your scrotum between the bricks!

Thanks for the explanation. I think I'll just stay with the Elmer Fudd Valkyries "kill the wabbit, kill the wabbit..." Less painful.

Speaking of Elmer Fudd, take a listen to this piece from Radiolab, NPR. It was fascinating.

However, using bricks would detract from the ability to sing deep bass notes. So that is a technique I would NEVER use.
