Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt

Post by SkirtRevolution »

Does anyone know where I can get a Mountain Hardwear Mountain Kilt. (see link below). I know that this is an earlier design but I prefer it from the new design but I am finding hard to locate where to buy one.

REI is about the only place I know of that carries the Mountain Hardware Kilt.
It is called the El Kommando Kilt but it is not made large enough for me.

That design was discontinued and replaced by the El Kommando about 18 months ago. You might get lucky and find one somewhere, but I don't have high hopes.

Like you, I prefer that to the newer design, I spent a couple of weeks exchanging emails with the UK importer of Mountain Hardware, but they were unable to source an original mountain kilt for me.

Have fun,

That was my first skirt! When I heard that the model was being discontinued, I bought some spares. Since then, my collection has grown extensively, and as the kilt wears well, I really have no use for the spares. So I have a M and a L size, new with hang tags intact. If you are interested, I would be glad to sell them. It is great intro garment for getting into skirts, and quite comfortable to hike in as well.

Hi Mountain Mug,

Thanks for your post. I am interested in propably the Large. Can you tell me what waist the Large will fit. I am usually a womens size 12 (australian) or 34in. Let me know what price you are wanting to sell the kilt for.

Hey Mountain Mug,

I sent a few more Private Messages but I am not sure if they are leaving my outbox and sending?

The Elkommando seems to be "sold out, out of stock" also. Too bad. I never met the first version, so I can't compare the two, but I like my second edition. It's great for the Summer when a trad kilt is a bit too heavy.
