I think this is a step in the right direction, because if men start wearing skirts with pants than sooner or later they'll start wearing just skirts by themselves
Maybe, but also maybe they'll just go back to pants. Most men are just too afraid of what their "life partner" thinks or says to do anything that might upset her.

Unfortunately, most skirt wearing men are either over 50 and living alone (with some exceptions) or the young men between high school graduation and college in the "party hearty", or gothic lifestyle before getting a regular job or going back to college. That huge mass of men between 25 and 50 are too afraid of "what will people think" to even try an unbifurcated garment. I hope that changes, pray pray pray!

You are 100% right; for those of us with a partner who finds it difficult one must strike a balance. I value my marriage and family highly and I would never act in a way to cause distress no matter how much I disagree. No cajones yes maybe but I am OK with it.

BBB,

It's nothing to do with cajones, just a sensible set of values. At the end of the day a skirt is just a garment, a piece of fabric to wrap around the body. If my wife was sufficiently unhappy about my choice of clothes I'd demur to her wishes since she is far more important to me than any issue of style, choice of car, hobby, living place or anything else.

Fortunately, I married a smart, thoughtful woman who also recognises that clothes are just that. Although she does not particularly like me wearing skirts, she accepts it and would not ask me to change into trousers unless it was important to her; on those occasions I do as she requests, recognising that compromise has to be balanced from all parties to work in the long term.

Have fun,

Ian.
