I wear slip-on dress shoes:

Unlike so many men's shoes, they don't make your feet look gargantum. They go well under skirts or dress slacks. And after an initial break-in period, they're very comfortable. But no, they can't be had for $60, I usually pay about $100 at DSW Shoes.

I think that until the manufacturers start making "women's" shoes for men, we men looking for something other than what we find in the men's dept, will have a tough time.
There are some exceptions out there, but
1 They have to fit,
2 They are often not made to actually walk in, ( comfort)
3 They should be fitted before buying, which is difficult if buying through internet.
4 Just finding them, and having them made in a size that goes larger than a normal women's foot is often the most difficult part.
Luckily, there are some men's dress shoes, that are not all that bulky.
The "mary janes " look promissing. And shoes with a T strap.
But with opening the horizons, with the "other " skirts, come the "other"
shoes.

Not that I know of. We're used to that in the ballet studio, but as far as I know, it just doesn't exist on the street.General question - are there "mens" styles out there that show off the top of the foot yet still has closed toes?
Also, I've had a terrible time finding men's sandals that show off the toes in a nice way without cutting all the lines of the foot at funny angles.

You might want to look at womens shoes by Sofft, most come up to womens 12 and in wide.

A third possibility is Naot. Although sizes and widths are less accomodating, some of the MaryJanes seem, to my eye, kind of unisex or androgynous in style. But I'm kind of eccentric (i. e. nuts). Just wish I had feet small enough to try some. Guess I'll stick with my Bastadt clogs.

I recently got a pair of the Vegan Solar - and so comfortable - worth the extra money.
I have a pair of the Mary Jane Doc's too - but in red for a bit of fun. Very supportive but in desperate need of some padding and shock absorption.

is a link to apparel. Going to that link, 2nd or 3rd page is
a hemp skirt. Looks like linen. They also have a store locator.
The skirt comes in 3 colors and at $48.00 USD, not to bad
a price. Granted, I could add $32.00 to that and get another
StillWater Kilt.

Sadly the current state of the dollar and shipping costs mean that all the mary janes at http://www.tallgirls.co.uk/womens-footwear.html would be well outside a $60 budget but not so bad for us in the UK.
