Quote from Coder on another thread.

As it has with me.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Carl in person (for a curry and a couple of pints of Guinness). He had one of those great distinct accents / voices (New England drawl springs to mind as a description, but I'm not sure if that's quite right) that should have been used in a film voice-over. Of course, whenever I read one of his posts on here it is always with his distinct way of talking in my mind. I shall certainly miss his presence on this forum.

Without wishing to sound over dramatic, this news has made me reevaluate my retirement plans. I fear that I'm currently neck-deep in that "just a few more years, then I'll retire" trap. As much as I'd wish to call time on my professional career right now, cold, hard economics prevent me from taking that course of action. But this sad news has galvanized me into making a plan that will allow me to retire in the next 5 years (at 60) and I've also resolved to get an RV this year rather than waiting for retirement.
