What did *you* wear "out and about" today?
As to the length, a skirt does give another visual appearance than a divisional pair of ( p*ants ) shorts, do, but if you have reasonable "normal "proportions, then this length of skirt is most easily worn and is very comfortable too! I like the look, it looks very right, very normal, very "natural".
I assume short p*nts would also be about that length. Well done, Milfmog.

In fact it was the third attempt at taking the picture, I had balanced the camera (a recent Ebay bargain) on a tree stump and set the self timer. The first two pictures were studies of a dog's backside

merlin wrote:Seriously though, that's the sort of 'look' that'll get us on the right road. Understated, and often as not, un-noticed (by most) I expect.
Thanks Merlin (and Peter). Although I have three or four skirts this sort of length, I tend to wear them when involved in physical activity but not for shopping or socialising as they are too short to hide my choice of underwear when seated or selecting items from the bottom shelf etc. Having said that I was wearing that skirt this morning when I picked up the paper from the local shop. The little girl (17 or 18 I'd guess) behind the till looked as though her eyes were about to pop out of her head when she noticed

Have fun,
Ian.

Aw, he was just trying to be friendly and, likely after first sniffing the camera, offerred the same. It's just dog behaviour. The first two pictures were studies of a dog's backsideas he trotted over to see what I was doing.
On the serious side, though, that is a very natural relaxed look. You do well with it.

Milfmog,
You look great in that look. It is certainly one that works for you
On another note, the car got re-repaired and I repaired to some retail therapy. <giggle> I finally got my Lanz of Salzburg nightgowns (thick yummy WARM flannel). AND <with extra giggle> I got slippers. They are shocking pink fake fur boots that look like something out of Monsters, Inc., But I WILL have toasty toes this winter.
Oh, and I have my eye on some turtle slippers.......

Hallo Ian, I think that some ettiket training is in order here, as with a little attention to how to sit, ( not wide legged) and kneeling down, instead ofmerlin wrote: I tend to wear them when involved in physical activity but not for shopping or socialising as they are too short to hide my choice of underwear when seated or selecting items from the bottom shelf etc.

The cats don't care about the fuzzy slippers. They prefer the fuzzy robe.
Cats just want to snuggle up in the warm.
Today, out and about, I had on an ankle length light colored dusty purple (eggplant color??) dress with a coordinating tunic length vest with a purple leaf pattern and an incomprehensible black script, gray tights, gray socks, black oxfords. For outerwear I had a purple boucle cape with matching scarf, a multi colored silk scarf and a hand crocheted multi colored hat (crocheted by yours truly!!!)
It was 20F today with 20 mph winds and my outfit was warm.
At the moment I have a nice warm laptop on my lap and my Fat Purple snuggled up on my legs cuddled up in my dress.
Actually, Fat Purple is neither fat nor purple. She is a lilac point Birman who was a chubby kitten, 7 years ago.

If the cats would stay "seated", they would make nice additions to your wardrobe. But if only because of the fur scandles of the previous century, ( fox shawles etc,
) it may be a good thing not to have a cat wrapped around your shoulders, purring all the time, as you walk somewhere.
As I had two cats previous to my divorce, I remember how they always came to your lap just as you were planning to get up, like going to the toilet in a commercial break.
I just love cats, mis the positive feeling that they give you, but don't mis all their hair which is left all over, and I had an allergic reaction to them at first, which although at last was not very much evident, their presence may unknown to me be less healthy in that respect.
Give your cats a hug for me.
Peter v.
Today I wore a purple shirt, open, with a white tank top under, with a black and silver beaded necklace, over that, a black pinstriped Gilet, and matching skirt, 2 inch above the knee, with black crochet weave pantys, and again my black riding boot style boots, (as I have not yet found suitable shoes to go with my skirts) Over that all, I wore outside, my long black wool "commander"coat, the type that captains or naval men used to wear.
They are also very prolific in the women's fashion here too.

Tonight was one of the Christmas parties that I really enjoy going to and like to dress up for. From top to bottom I was wearing:
Neatly combed hair.
Long sleeve white dress shirt
Red tie with metallic crosshatch threads
Red velvet skirt previously mentioned to be on sale at Wal-Mart.
Silken Mist pantyhose
Solid black Chinese Mary Jane slippers like these:

A good night all in all. I'm expecting to re-use the outfit in a week or two for going to a Christmas concert.

The issue is not one of needing to learn how to wear the skirts, they are simply too short! I'm 6'3" (1.90m) tall and a 15" (380mm) skirt sitting a waist height only just about covers my assets when stood up. It's not too obvious in the picture but if I sit in a chair, even with my knees together the skirt only just reaches the end of my underwear, even though I pull it down as I sit. Stood upright with my hands by my sides the whole length of my fingers is against bare skin (and no, I do not have arms like an orang-outang

Have fun,
Ian.
PS Today: Ankle length black box pleat skirt with black button down long sleeve shirt and (while outside in the wind) a black fleece pullover. Shoes from Cotton traders (here) in black.
The breeze here is too blustery for short skirts today unless they are very straight to prevent the wind lifting them.

Two years ago, I rescued and raised 3 orphan kittens: SuperStar, Possum and Lorenzo. When they got old enough, I placed them into loving homes.
Whenever she could, Possum would jump onto my shoulders and ride around, purring up a storm in my ear. The problem was that I didn't quit doing whatever I was doing. Possum adjusted to changes in movement, mostly using a great sense of balance, but, oh, those claws!
Well, I have had cats do that. Before she got sick, House Lion used to ride on my shoulders. Maybe once she fully recovers from surgery she'll do it again.it may be a good thing not to have a cat wrapped around your shoulders, purring all the time, as you walk somewhere

I am 186 cm, 81 kilo, and also have a 38cm or 15 inch denim skirt, which I had worn the past few days. With black and white striped leggings. That is about the minimum length, worn at the real waist, nota some women, lower on the hips, which gives extra "length".Milfmog wrote:Thanks Peter,Peter v wrote:Hallo Ian, I think that some ettiket training is in order here, as with a little attention to how to sit, ( not wide legged) and kneeling down, instead ofjust bending over, ( Kneeling down upright is the right way to lower yourself to reach low placed things) should be enough to get around without embarrassing yourself or others.

The trick here, for me is, to wear nice and warm tights with them. Actually you are wearing then tights, as you would for sports, and to "finish"it off neatly, a skirt is worn over them. In this way, the length is of no real importance. As you are wearing nice tights, there is nothing to be seen anyway. But it is true, worn at the true waist, up high, 15 inch is going to extremes, BUT FUN!

Like the shoes! Nice colours, and they look sleek, not bulky.
