Re: Sad News
Devastating news.
I feel that we all relied so much on Carl’s quiet management of the site in the background.
Though, at the same time, he was forthright in his opinions on other matters as well as showing a decidedly British idiom and orthography!

Condolence's to all who knew and loved him. Wishing you all the best as you recover from his loss.
Re: Sad News
So sad and unexpected. RIP.
Re: Sad News
This is indeed very sad news. It was always a pleasure to read his interpretation of issues.
He will be sorely missed.

Re: Sad News
It is most certainly sad news to read of Carl's sudden and unexpected passing. It goes to show that none of us necessarily know when our time will come, and that we should all make the most of the time we do have.
Carl will be missed by all on the forum, for his level headed approach with his analytical logic and his way with words.
While I have not had any personal communication with him, he has been an important member of our community here at SC.

Re: Sad News
Carl will be missed by all of us. I'm sorry I didn't get to know him better. My sister-in-law died the same way. Sudden and distressing to all who knew her.
Re: Sad News
A shock and sad indeed. Carl's contributions went far beyond being our Master Barista and friend; I will miss his wit, wisdom and eloquent style on both paper and personhood. Carl, I won't say R.I.P. as no doubt you would tell me it means: "Routing Information Protocol", but you are forever in our hearts.
Re: Sad News
For me, this news has come as quite a shock and still difficult to believe. Having had a healthy private correspondence with Carl over the years on a range of topics, I suspected that with him all might just not be well as his usual erudition didn't come in my direction lately.
I will miss him greatly and wish him a pleasant safe passage into the hereafter.
