Today was a stay @ home day. Woke up with pain in my right foot, so just vegged out. Yesterday and the day before, I just wore what I've been wearing most of the time lately. A black UK with various t-shirts, trouser sox and running shoes. Tomorrow, I hope my foot's better. Will prolly wear some skirt with the same stuff I wear with the black UK. Still supposed to be kinda warm, in the mid-upper 80's.

Congrats Boca! It'll be easier from now on...Wore my 3 year-old faded black AK, super comfy, with t-shirt and Nikes. Tomorrow's going to work in Blue Stewart SK and polo shirt. Trying to make this a totally-kilted week!

My SO Judy just told me it's so hot outside she saw a dog chasing a cat and they were both walking slowly....:tombstone:

Same weather here, mate! Short denim skirt, RNeAF teeshirt & sports socks & that's it! Just right for washing the car (& confusing a new neighbour, into the bargain! ), and that's about all! Confusing the new neighbour? Yeah, when's he ever seen a RNeAF teeshirt, before?

Royal Netherlands Air Force (Gilze-Rijen, this one). I would have put "KLu", which is Koninklijke Luchtmacht, of course, but I didn't want to confuse anyone (on the forum, that is!). Joe Public is fair game........

Caught

Post by Since1982 »

By the way, the dog DID catch the cat.....they looked at each other for a while, the dog laid down and went to sleep, the cat laid on top of the dog and also passed out! Just before dark the cat woke and wandered away...I think the dog is still laying there passed out or...............:naughty:

Pedantry...

Post by ChrisM »

Skip, what is the dog laying? I assume it was eggs. You should call the press - I have never seen an egg-laying dog. Or did he lay the cat down? No, that can't be it, you said that the cat was on top of the dog, not the other way around. Hmmm....

Ah! Perhaps you meant that the dog was LYING down?

What I wore at university degree ceremony

Post by Stevie D »

I was a guest at a degree presentation ceremony at the University of Sheffield, where a friend was being presented with a special Senate award for teaching excellence.

I wore a black sleeveless top, black linen blouse as a lightweight jacket - removed once the sun came out and the temperatures soared into the 30s, blue/dark-blue batik Indonesian sarong, black leather sandals, toenails done with silver polish. We all had a lovely day along with hundreds of others at this happy event.

Will try to append a picture to this post - cropped from a group photo. Unfortunately, feet not showing but you get the general idea, I hope. Good gear for a formal occasion on a hot summer's day.

Thats a beautiful batik pattern and colors on that sarong. I'm jealous as all get out. :ninjajig: :ninjajig: :cheer:

By the way, do you have an email address you'd share with me? If so, send an email to SkirtedMan@aol.com please. Thanks :)

Today was Lennox District tartan day. Wore a traditional kilt with navy blue kilt hose, red flashes, a teal green t-shirt, and running shoes.

Short skirt

Post by Since1982 »

Well, I finally did it. Got Judy to sew me a shorter skirt than I've ever had. In that very nice Tiger Striped Batik cotton print material. When I'm sitting it comes to about 9 inches above my knees. Standing about 3 inches above my knees. Sure is cool in this heat wave. She made me 2 of them and is making me another in a black cotton print with multi colored salt water tropical fish all over it. I can't wait until Sunday Bingo to see what the old ladies say about my "mini skirt" hehehehehe :ninjajig: :cheer:

PS, I'll probably wear black opaque tights with it to hide my old leathery legs. :)

Three-kilted day...

Post by binx »

Wore my tan AK to breakfast this morning. Too wrinkled, I changed into my Navy Sportkilt for services. Now heading to the pool (has gotten HOT outside) in my short Postal Blue UK after polishing off the last of my Glenlivet and a Guinness. Life is good!:cheer:
