And of course this all depends on the type of underwear (if any) worn, and whether tights are worn.

Not to mention how well endowed you are.

That's true. As I wear short skirts and could inadvertently reveal bits that should not be revealed, I wear dark (mens) underwear - of exactly the same kind as I wear if I am wearing trousers. Sort of Calvin Klein boxer type things. So even if my skirt flew in the air - no-one would see anything more than you could see everyday on the beach.

I also wear dark or opaque tights - not so much to hide my erogenous zone ( :) ) but more to make my legs look better.
Not to mention how well endowed you are.
Unless a man has genitals that are truly exceptionally big, I think this is irrelevant.

The main thing I concentrate on when wearing a short skirt is keeping my legs together when I bend down and either keeping them together or crossing them when I sit down. I've not had any embarassing moments yet (touches wood).

Living here in South Florida shorts and skirts are the norm for me . I work in shorts. I have fairly short legs so average length mens shorts are too long and go below the knees. I wear 4" inseam shorts and they come about finger tip length on me. My skirts are all about the same or maybe 2" below finger tip. All my skirts range from 11" to 14" length. The on in my photo here with my dog is 13". Most of my skirts are low waisted as is the fashion today. These skirts work well for a man as the waiste is larger to sit on the hips. I don't seem to have any problem sitting unless some one is bending over looking under the table type thing to get a better look. Yes I always wear under wear.

All my skirts are short

Post by Departed Member »

Hi All,

I can't resist responding to this thread! All of my skirts are on the short side, and some are minis. I don't have any that go below the knee, and showing my legs is a big part of the enjoyment that I get from wearing skirts in general.

Yes, there are issues of posture and motion when wearing a short skirt, but one just has to deal with them. I'm sure we've all had moments when we've revealed more than we intended too, and to a certain extent, I think that's expected by the general public. I'm sure most women would agree. As long as it's brief and unavoidable, I don't think anyone will fault us for it, at least not here in the San Francisco Bay Area (California - USA).

Of course one must be vigilent. Here's an amusing picture some one took of me during a peer support group. My knees were together, my mini was pulled down as far as it would go, but in a moment of distraction I forgot that I had not crossed my legs. Jeez, was I embarrassed when I saw the picture. I began to keep my legs crossed whenever possible after that...

It looks like you are wearing white or very light coloured underwear there John. Bad move! :D

I prefer black or very dark underwear for just that reason. If I forget to cross my legs, nothing much shows anyway as everything under the skirt is dark.

I'm sure you get some sick satisfaction from showing your shortcomings to all of us, but not all of us wish to see your "upskirt" shots.

That's not amusing at all and is fine example of why most of the population is not ready for a man in a skirt.

All,

Thanks for the comments. Like I was saying, the shorter the hemline the more vigilent the wearer must be.

When that picture was taken, the photographer was standing just a few feet away from me. Even with he standing and me sitting, the viewing angle was still sufficient to cause an embarassing view. I learned my lesson...

John,

Thanks for coming back with a positive reply and not getting bitter and twisted about any of the other responses you received.

I'm not sure that I agree that your picture was amusing, but it does provide a clear reminder of the need to stay aware of what we're wearing, how we move and the way we sit; particularly as hemlines rise.

Have fun,

Ian.

Good Point

Hi Ian,

It's definitely a good point that you make. Maybe "instructive" would have been a better word to use than "amusing," as the picture really did teach me a lesson!

As for the negative reactions of others, they aren't the first and they won't be the last. Some people are very uncomfortable with this sort of thing, and they react in a manner that pushes the situation away from them. I'm sure they could do better if they tried, but I wish them well even if they don't.

Nice to chat with you.

Well, I for one am glad that you posted that photo John. I was a bit taken aback by the couple of harsh comments that followed - but perhaps some people thought that it was a "pervert post". I didn't take it like that - although I suppose some people do get some sort of kinky kick from posting rude photos of themselves on the net.

Anyhow - back to the subject. Your photo has made me MUCH MORE AWARE of my own appearance - particularly when I sit down. Like you, I wear fairly short skirts and your photo brought it home to me that, unless I am careful in how I sit etc. , even someone who is standing up quite close to me may be able to see my underwear etc.

Alright - it wouldn't be the end of the world if someone gets a glimpse of my knickers - but it's not an "image" that I want to put across. Anyhow, since you posted your photo, I have been more careful as I sit down, while I am sitting and when I get up. And I see that as a good thing. I want to create a good impression. I want people to feel comfortable with me - in a skirt. I don't want them to feel embarassed etc.

Right On

Hi ChristopherJ,

Yes, you are right on the money. When I first saw the picture, it was a huge wake-up call for the extra care needed when sitting in a short skirt. Even when we think we're ok, someone could be at a bad viewing angle and then everyone's embarrassed.

That's why I posted the picture.

Short vs Long Skirts

Post by skirttron »

I like mine just above the knee. Since I have to restrict myself to buying standard (23 inch) length kilts, and I am only average height, I have resorted to washing some of them at a higher temperature to shorten them a bit.
