Just make sure you wear non opaque tights and modesty is preserved.
(I underlined specific words)

Sorry BM, I don't know what dictionary you use, but 'modesty' is never preserved with 'non opaque tights'.
Non opaque tights are a sheer, SEE THROUGH, material.

Dictionary
Definitions from Oxford Languages
o·paque
/ōˈpāk/
adjective
adjective: opaque; comparative adjective: opaquer; superlative adjective: opaquest

not able to be seen through; not transparent.
"the windows were opaque with steam"
I will wear 'black-out' tights, which my support hose are. Nothing is seen when wearing them.
I am fully covered when wearing them. Yes, I wear black tights as that flows into my shoe color.
Other color 'black-out' tights are readily available. "Black-out" is another term used to mean
'opaque' or can't be seen through.

Looks like I will be buying some raspberry tights from Snag!!!
JeffB1959 wrote: Mon Jan 06, 2025 12:14 am Hmm! I think a black top with matching shoes would work well with that skirt. At least that’s how I’d manage such an outfit.
To try out Jeff's idea of black, I got out some very thick fleecy tights, black leotard and black puffy jacket. The fleecy tights are footless, so my feet insisted on Uggs, which in turn brought the brown bag into play. The skirt is the short Super-dry one I bought in the summer after seeing victor1964's http://www.skirtcafe.org/forums/viewtop ... 52#p262552 I changed the black shoes for black tights, but maybe I should have found some black boots?

Well it was an experiment. The skirt is not there for warmth at all, it is just adding something. Mrs Mouse thought I looked "cute", which I am, taking with both hands. I can't remember anytime in my life where I have been called "cute".

I have ordered some Snag tights and one of the colours I have on order is "Raspberry pie"..... Part of me thinks we are going down a rabbit hole? But the other side of me is having a lot of fun. I am 61 and buying short pink skirts from Super-dry and pink tights from Snag!!!! :) :) :)

I like the tiered, ruffled mini skirt. Looks good with the rest of your outfit with a good amount of contrast. I have quite a collection of skirts like that. A bit like a capital for the leg columns.

Well done, Mouse! The contrast of the black top and legwear with the skirt and Uggs, plus the jacket looked terrific! You knocked that one out of the park!

Please don't worry about me. I am having more fun now with clothes than at any point in my life. I am just bemused at where I find myself in life!!

Whilst I like the skirt, I feel it gets a bit lost with all the solid, bulky black - look forward to seeing it with the pink tights and perhaps a different jacket?

That skirt is a statement piece - let it shine.

As soon as we challenge the norm, stray from the path the world looks different. What bemuses me is; why did I ever think what I was told is right?

Thanks Susie, I will try a number of looks when the pink skirt and the Snag tights arrive. I have a cream fluffy jacket and a black and pink gilet which I thought of trying?

sounds good and I look forward to seeing it, although the bulk of the puuffy jacket might still unbalance the ensemble.

So, the £10.50 pink skirt arrived and since we were running out of milk, I made a quick trip to Tescos...

The raspberry Snag tights have not arrived, so I went with Jeff's idea of black. With deference to Susie, I still went with my puffy jacket, since I do not have any other warm black jackets. I have never worn bright pink and in the winter sunlight it did seem very bright. My brain was of course going potty informing me that everybody was looking at me, but I just strode on with my list and shopping trolley. I am sure some were noticing me, but nobody said anything and part of me enjoyed every second of my shopping trip.

The skirt is made of thicker material, similar to what you would make a fleece out of. The skirt has an elasticated waist that fits me very well, without being too tight and showing my equipment. It has small cutouts each side, similar to some shorts.

So what do we think? Can Mouse at 61 wear a short PINK skirt? Is this too much? Should men wear bright Pink or are we only allowed pale pink shirts? Would you wear a pink skirt? if not why? what is it about Pink?

All comments welcome since this is an experiment and I want debate and some fun. Mouse

Pink skirt looks good with the black. Even fits in with the pink in the background :)

Looks good Mouse. You have the legs for it, for sure.
It's short but doesn't look out of place, massively helped by the black tights, boots and matching bag.

I'm not so sure about the puffer jacket. I think a black Jean jacket might suit.
