Skirt Cafe is an on-line community dedicated to exploring, promoting and advocating skirts and kilts as a fashion choice for men, formerly known as men in skirts. We do this in the context of men's fashion freedom --- an expansion of choices beyond those commonly available for men to include kilts, skirts and other garments. We recognize a diversity of styles our members feel comfortable wearing, and do not exclude any potential choices. Continuing dialog on gender is encouraged in the context of fashion freedom for men. See here for more details.

They seem to go for the "skirt over trousers" look in a number of their pictures. Just an observation. Wasn't sure the look shows the skirt off well, but what do I know?
Maybe they have a plan to sell the trousers/jeans together with their skirts?
Then eventually they'll stop selling the skirts and just sell trousers/jeans?

To be fair to them, the word "skirts" is in their name,
Purple Rain Skirts
and as far as I can see, they don't make trousers, just skirts, kilts and dresses.
They have been quite supportive to MIS and have clearly shown male models as well -- though they are a small outfit and you don't see much in the promos but follow the site, comments, & other net presence, I think they are one of the few 'good ones' in terms of being non-gendered in their marketing.
The male models only get to wear the three colours of the kilt they make. The female models get to wear everything including the kilts.
But there again, they make a skirt and call it a kilt so they can sell it to men.
I would like to try both the hiking dress, skirt and kilt. Shame the winter skirt is shorter! But its an expensive prospect with shipping and import tarrifs, just like dnke and ozkiltz. We really need more of these smaller brands within the EU.
Not alone with a dream, Just a want to be free, With a need to belong,
I am a skirtsman
Freedom, Freedom, Freedom, Freedom

OK, Mouse -- you just set a challenge; Purple Rain is located very near where we once lived (I'm still bankrolling a house there) so on our next visit to the neighborhood I'll just have to volunteer to model their skirts -- I'm cheap, a skirt or two will pay the tab, if they'd have me. Maybe I better check in with Mark for tips!
