I have about 30 skirts and roughly 30 dresses. I wear about half on a regular basis.

I'm a slacker - no pun intended. I currently have 2 kilts and a third on order. No skirts, per se, but I wouldn't be against it if the right thing came along.

I'm slightly bemused at this desire to tally up quantities. I look at my wife's dressing room and walk-in wardrobes and fail to even begin there. As for me, I use the old-fashioned wardrobe that stood in my bedroom as a child, rescued from my parents' home. This is not big, and the MUG department therein has but a few such items, but very shortly will be enhanced by my long-awaited 'kilt-on-fire', for which I have some matching items already and which will be the subject of some pics. soon, & definitely no trickery!

I have about 14 tartan kilts, new, second-hannd or home-made, 4 home-made cotton twill skirt/kilts, a few lightweight short skirts from the charity shop, some of which I wear only at home or on my cycle.
There are still a few more in the cupboard back in France, so I don't have to take much luggage when traveling between here and there.

The fellow on the Braveheart forum that had over 50 kilts, mentioned above, finally reached 101 items, which he will be bequeathing to a museum somewhere when the time comes. Seems a pity for all those beautiful kilts to be taken out of use, but that is his choice.

Probably about 20 skirts and 3 dresses but sadly more then half of the skirts are from my experimental days of discovering what brands and sizes fit me best. That whole vanity sizes thing really throw me off. Damn you manufactures that try to make people think they are 2 sizes smaller then they really are. I should consider selling them.

I find that I am a size "L", or "16" in girl terms. In some things a size "M" is good though. Depends how much you have under the item. Getting things like dresses or t-shirts in both sizes is a good thing to do. Skirts usually ride about hip high, so the one size "L" seems to always do the trick there.

The Macabis have elastic (not too powerful), draw-string, and small belt loops. I got a strip of supple webbing from army disposals, and with the small buckle from other webbing made a perfect soft but immensely strong belt for it, just the correct width. That makes the skirt sit really nicely, and very secure if I have heavy stuff like camera etc in the pockets.
The Macabis are very voluminous, and thus have plenty of room for cavenous pockets.

I don't like having to deal with pockets they seem to make the garment look weird no matter what you put into them. I just resorted to buying a messengers bag that goes with most anything I wear even if its boys or girls clothes. Once a good family friend and security leader at my church told me to put the bag away because it made me look too girly. :D Not sure if thats what I am going for even tough I love wearing lite color like pink, green and yellow. I wear a size 10 thru 14. Now you can see why the vanity sizes messed me up. I am also glad I lost those 50 pounds last spring or else I would have been like a size 24. Really, it was that bad.

I tend to steadfastly remain on about 170 lb whatever I do, which suits my size "L" o"16" hip measurement. I just try and have a defined waist above that, for the dresses, which are better without a belt or tie, other than the denim shirt-dresses, which are designed with one in mind. So far reasonably successful.
Here is a shot in the old black t-dress, which does need a waist to look any good.

I got rid of 2 skirts lately ... I wear them till they're worn out ...

I'm left with 26 skirts and 3 dresses ...

5 are kilts like ...
3 minis
6 A type
8 pencil skirt
2 A type long
2 pencil long

I like to shop at the 2nd hand clothing shops , as I'm able to find much of what I'm looking for ...

Lol

I hate to think. I reckon about 100, but that might be an under-estimate! All have been worn at some stage, but some not for a while. I probably need to do some ebaying!
