I have quite a few minis and wear them exclusively (when I wear skirts) in the summer. They definitely are great fun and are much cooler than longer skirts. I try to remember all that stuff about not bending over, etc., etc., but know I forget more often than not, so I am sure anyone watching carefully frequently gets an eyeful. One thing I have noticed is that people seem to react more to a longer more "girly" skirt than a shorter less "girly" one. This surprised me considerably. Wearing my black 8" mini with no hose which, because of its cut, usually blows in the wind seems to get noticed far less than my 14" grey skirt that is all fancy ruffles and lace.

Me too I have quite many mini skirts. I wear them during the summer time. My girlfreind too likes wearing a mini skirt. I quite envy my girlfreind a little. She can wear hers mini skirts all the time, even to work. I can´t do this because of the dress code we have at the office.
Instead I wear my mini skirts in my spare time when I´m free. Sunday was such a perfect day for miniskirts wearing.
Me and my girlfreind was to a race meeting. I liike that, cars and motor sport is two of my hobbies. I was wearing a light blue denim skirt, 13 inch long. My girlfreind wore a pleated skirt about the same length as mine.
Its great wearing a mini skirt when the weather is warm and the sun is shining. As we was going to be out for a whole day we desided wearing pantyhose. Its more comfy when wearing high heel pumps and when sitting in the grand stand. Wearing hose when you´re in a mini skirt you don´t have to have the skin agaist the chair.
I do love my mini skirts but its take a bit learning how to walk, how to sit in a mini skirt. I´m having a sports car A Mazda Miata MX5.
Wearing a skirt and especially a mini skirt its takes a bit of technique to entering and leaving the car.
I enjoy very much driving this car so I have to use this technique whenever I use it.
I do it a bit like this:'
1. I open the door and back in as cloce I can get.
2. Keep my legs tight tight together as I sit down into the seat and swing sin my legs into the car, still keping them tight tight together.
3.Then when I´m seated I always trying straightened up my skirt the best I can.
Leaving the car I do it the same in the opposite way.

I use the same technique to enter and exit my small Mazda sedan when wearing long, full skirts. Of course, I have to make sure all the skirt made it into the car before closing the door.

Yes its a good technique isn´t it. I pretty used to it by now. Wearing a skirt every day now yes I´m pretty used to do this technique. I use this technique every time weather my skirt is long, short or a mini skir.

Some years ago I hurt my back. The surgeon who treated me recommended always sitting into a car then swinging the legs in together as a way to avoid twisting and doing any further damage. I always use this approach to getting into or out of cars now, whetever I'm wearing.
Have fun,
Ian.

I now in the habit of swinging my legs together whenever I get out of a car so much that when I get out of bed I do the same thing in spite of wearing a nightgown instead of a skirt. Most pajamas have pants and I sure do not want to wear pants especially when I sleep so that's why I wear a nightgown instead. A man's nightshirt is about $30 each; I can get a two pack of women's nightgowns for only about $25.

That WOULD be a miracle, imagine that, skirts for females. A NEW fashion!!
Yep, when I go for my morning walk, I never see anybody else wear a skirt. I am the only one wearing a skirt. There are a lot more women than men going for morning walks.

Me too. I´m sleeping in a nightgown and I do the same when enetering and leaving the bed. I keep my legs tight together. Its been a habbit for me doing this and also keeping my legs tight together when I´m sitting and standing up from a chair. Wearing a skirt or a dress I´m always sitting with my legs crossed.

I adore minis. Worn strictly for leisure pleasure in private. I speak for myself, as the wife disapproves.. Shame. They do however, dictate that good pantyhose and support underwear be worn underneath. Opaques in tan/natural colour made by Danskin for men are just the ticket. I also like very broad belts with big decorative buckles/fasteners.
Just the other day I came across a blue denim number in Debenhams...flat front & back, but pleated to either side. Rear zip, & fits very snugly to my waist and falls to mid-thigh. Very comfortable & cool.

Just like a woman - women simply don't understand the freedom of not having that wedge of cloth against the testicles when wearing a skirt. I have to put up with that attitude from my wife.

Just looking back at older posts & found this, about minis (skirts, that is).
I'm just looking, at the mo, for some on H&M GB. I like shopping there even if I don't buy & saw this. Not completely mini, but shorter than many I have.

A steal at £12.99, except small pockets. Can't have everything.

Not for me, Purecotton. Far too tight & restricting. 'Pockets' are a joke. Sizes small too...UK16 is only 31.5 inches waist. Maybe you've got a sylph-like figure! I like the colour, though.

If you'd asked me, when I started to wear skirts openly, whether I'd wear a mini, I have said no - too short, not me, etc. But after a while, and encouraged by comments and photos here, I thought I'd try one. Now the straight light blue denim one shown in my pics thread is one of my favourites! And I have not restricted myself to wearing it indoors, though like you I need the thick tights to keep everything out of sight! Obviously I need to keep my knees together, but not quite as firmly as I had thought. (On this point I was encouraged by an observation I made on a train recently. Two young women were sitting in the group of four seats opposite where I was. One of them, taking up the available space in a relaxed sort of a way, sat at an angle with her legs slightly further apart than her mother would have approved of. She was (inadvertently, sad to say

) giving me a view right up her mini, but there was nothing to see but thick black tights disappearing into the shadowy insides of the skirt. Absolutely nothing on display at all.

)
When the weather gets too warm for my 100 Denier tights I may have to stop wearing it, for decency's sake.
Mrs SS, like Mrs K, disapproves of my mini. In fact she thoroughly detests it and has taken to demanding I take it off, even at home. Never a supporter of me wearing a skirt out and about in our home town, she is aghast at the thought of me being seen in the mini (which has happened, and of course no-one seemed to care).

I had a waist like that a few times... the first in reality and the rest in my dreams!
