Re: Accents?

I wouldn't go so far as to say there is a conspiracy to trouser all 6.5 billion of us but I think Dennis is right about inertia in society. That's why, despite all the catwalk glam & hype at fashion shows, what ends up being offered to we ordinary people is a slightly wider lapel on our jackets,...

Re: do you wear tights or not

Until recently I would have said no, not under any circumstances - too much hassle & not enough time. Then I discovered short skirts (mid thigh to above knee) looked good on me & I had to think the whole thing through again. So I have invested in razors - if you're going to do something, you...

Re: Here is some interesting reading

Thanks for that, it was interesting reading - speaking, as it does, from a similar position to several posts I've read here, but looking at the debate from another direction. I don't have a full grasp of the history of this debate, so hearing another view is always interesting even if, as Dennis say...

Re: Is it satire or is it .... ?

This cartoon got a snort of laughter from me - which is no bad thing, so thanks MB crfiend for posting it. The trouble is you can get all serious & profound looking for hidden meanings in stuff (those of you who took English at school/college/uni will remember all the guff our tutors found in Sh...

Re: What do you guys think of this?

Just goes to show we all have different ideas of what we want to wear & what looks good on our frames. B&B's right, it does sound complicated; as the Monty Python boys said "My brain hurts!" I'm having fun seeing what works for me & one day I might post some piccies - probably ...

Re: Why, Hello There! (New Member)

Hi, Dans-le-Vent Yep, there are other blokes (that probably tells you I'm English) who find the choice between grey suits & blue suits a narrow range - I grew up in the 70's which were a more colourful era - everything from hippies to punks plus a few others! Anyway, good to see you here. Graham

Re: new guy - 18 year old

Hi Craig Welcome - like you I'm new here, & as everyone else seems to be throwing maths at you, I'm you x 3 + 1 (it's so much easier than stating bald numbers). I'm in Suffolk which is about 100 years away from almost anywhere. Hope Uni is a blast & that you get yourself a beltingly good job...

Re: Long time no posts

Hi Pythos

Speaking as one who has been here less than a month, I'm glad to see you back. I've found your posts & photos intriguing & enjoyable, add to that the fact you made me think - something I appreciate. See you around.

Re: Guy, what kind of hobbies do you have?

Dennis, I think anything counts as a hobby if you spend more time & money on it than is strictly necessary; so I'd say computer fighting counts - big question is how often do you win? I always like Zaphod Breeblebox's approach in Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy 'Computer, open this door now or ...
