Men's reviews for skirts on amazon

I was browsing Amazon and came across this skirt, where I was surprised to find a number of comments were from men, including some pictures! I suspect it mostly has to do with the fact that it "looks like a kilt". Slowly getting there!

For example: one, two

Re: More Than A Quarter Of California Teens Are Gender Nonco

Parts of this thread reminded me of this old blog post ( https://thelastpsychiatrist.com/2013/09/real_men_want_to_drink_guinnes.html ) even though it seems a bit orthogonal to the direction of the thread, but does talk a bit about society and gender expectations. Some relevant bits that caught my ey...

Re: The Western World influence

Reminds me of Cargo Cults (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cargo_cult) With the end of [World War II], the military abandoned the airbases and stopped dropping cargo. In response, charismatic individuals developed cults among remote Melanesian populations that promised to bestow on their followers del...

Re: A dress happened

I don't think one needs to match ones clothes with one's skin colour. If you are pale, you are pale; if dark, you are dark, and that's it. I don't think it's a matter so much of matching , but rather what shades or tones look good with a given complexion. Very vivid colours, for instance, can overp...

Re: A dress happened

I'm with renesm1 re: leggings (it at least needs something else). I like the jumper look better, but it looks "incomplete". The skin tone in your legs doesn't match with that color shirt and the navy jumper. It is, however, a very promising look.

Courage and Confidence

From here The fundamental mistake people make about confidence, and life in general, is about shame. They are living from an orientation that they don’t want to be afraid . The ego analysis of this condition is so shallow that it is deep. If you don’t want to be afraid it means you think it is bad t...

I concur; that's one aspect of the look I don't intend to emulate.

Necklace as... neck tie?

I've never considered myself much of one for jewelery--for whatever reason--but I came across this photo and was struck by the use of the necklace. I've never seen anyone place it over a shirt quite like this and I think I like it but I'm not sure what contexts this would even work in. Neither do I ...

Re: Dresses!

Well, not a dress, but I did find this safari skirt.. http://www.steampunkemporium.com/store/003978S.php In fact I think it may be the next skirt I buy myself. That looks quite interesting, indeed. I may well contemplate one of those. Yes, about the only thing 'wrong' with that skirt is the zip loc...

Hi Daryl I don't understand what you mean with "Norstdresses stuffing $100k into a box and mailing it to Daryl"? Sorry, for the question. If you find time, please explain it to me. Many thanks in advance have a nice skirted day Norst, I believe Daryl was alluding to the TV show Breaking B...

Re: Northskirt

I won't be buying one anytime soon! Well that's just fine because I don't think they are (or ever were) for sale, but rather just a DIY project. Certainly not for everyone, but I enjoyed it :D Although I imagine she must get sick from spinning around to show it off if she ever wears it out and about.

Northskirt

I didn't know if this belonged in the Sewing subforum or here, but I was blown away (being the big geek that I am) when I saw this. Seeing this makes me wish I had thought of it independently. I know there are several other geeks here that might appreciate this. It's a skirt with several rows of LED...

Re: A winter skirt for men?

I am seriously considering ordering this skirt -- what do you all recommend for the length? Ankle height? Top of my foot? I don't want the 'dowdy' look that comes with it being too short, and I'm concerned that it looks a touch short even in the picture, though feel free to tell me if I am crazy. Pe...
