Re: What did *you* wear "out and about" today? part2

On a narrowboat holiday during the past week, all day everyday a black miniskirt with a selection of T shirts. On and off the boat (locks, etc) and in the evenings in the pub, there were a few short-lived stares (though that could have been more at the sight of my bad leg and its caliper) but absolu...

Thanks B&B, I shall look the Helensburgh one next time I'm in the area. As far as music is concerned, I'm afraid that by preference as well as professionally I favour only what might be termed serious music - or misnamed 'classical' music - and never want any as a kind of wallpaper. It's probabl...

Oh come on Prof! after a gallon of good beer, what could be better that rinsing the beer down with a good basic meal? Specially after thirty locks, every time we have done that flight we make it harder by catching up to then 'helping' the boat in front until they give in and let us pass them. We mu...

Ah, yes, I know Tardebigge well - been up and down it quite a few times now. (I think I might remember the pub mentioned, though I'm not keen on pubs which confuse their purpose with the provision of food - indeed I recall standing in a pub near Burton-on-Trent once, when someone came in and asked f...

All depends how much you like to travel per day. When my wife and I used to do this several times each year, we usually went with a group on a 70' narrow boat, and generally get up at about 4am, travel all day with no stops, and finish at sunset. This way, one can, and we have, navigated the Cheshir...

Footer, I've always called it. Though never attempted to play it. Nomenclature probably dates back to prep. school days.

Yesterday: red T shirt, black miniskirt - on journey from hotel in south to England to home inthe north of England, including stops at a motorway service area, and, earlier, breakfast in the hotel dining room. No comments whatsoever.

I know what you both mean CJF and Sapphire. I have always used a full length brace on my right leg, and a below knee one on the left. They're the old type, metal ones, but essential. Wearing a skirt makes things easier - trousers are often a problem (my braces are fixed into bulky shoes, so are awkw...

It's been anything between -1 and +9 Celsius around here for the past few weeks. I continue normally to wear a miniskirt. But it's practical for me: I don't go outdoors a great deal, and it's easier with the leg problems I have. I've also never been much bothered by cold (albeit living in a temperat...
